I have, and have had several hammer double rifles, and when walking into a sittuation where both barrels may be needed, I cock both barrels, and I don't use stalking safeties at those times. If the rifle doubles, then either the shooter hit the second trigger because his finger slipped off the front trigger form the recoil of the first shot,or the rifle needs to be repaired. The Exposed Hammer double is no more prone to doubleing than a hammerless double rifle, both are cocked, and when the safety is set to fire position, they are both ready to fire either barrel. ![]() |
