They only stopped because no one was buying........remember South Africa and Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) had sanctions against them , other ex-colonies were not really stable and many had civil wars raging, India had new restrictions on importing ammo and rifles, The gunmakers in England were not making the big nitro express doubles like they used to and the factory was most likely getting old and expensive to run, plus cheaper bolt rifles from USA were available in .375H&H and .458Win.Mag.
