I can't understand why Gibbs or Jeffery never made this leap in the 1880s and 1890s if the Farquharson was the poor man's double or back-up rifle of the time? I guess it was just quick enough to reload as a single compared to a 4-bore muzzle loader.... who knows... The demand for those now would be immense!
