Re: The Dougall Lockfast - A Forgotten but Interesting Desig

In the spring of 2005 Monty Whitley had a really nice Dougall Lockfast 12 bore shotgun with two sets of damascus barrels. All was highest quality and in really great shape. I had the pleasure to handle that gun several times, and I considered buying it. In the end, I just ripped off the photos, which I will now share:

The description at that time:

12 bore, 30" damascus steel barrels. Set one choked .006" in both. Set two choked .022" in both. Both barrels and action marked "HIGHEST QUALITY". Checkered splinter forend, pistol grip buttstock measuring 14 1/4" with heel & toe plates. In beautiful original condition with the action retaining much of the original casehardened colors. Both sets of barrels have 90-95% original brown damascus color and pattern. The triggerguard bow has most of the charcoal blue with the lower strap starting to silver. Magnificent wood. Perfect bores that measure .732" both sets.
