You also take big chances at the auctions. I'm an importer and buy 90% of my stock from the English auctions. A few are good, most will answer questions honestly, but only if you ask and there's at least one that flat out cheats you. An example, I bought a Purdey hammergun 12 bore for $6000. Looked great in the photos, nothing in the desription that was bad. When it got here I discovered that the forearm metal where it contacts the knuckle was cracked clear through horizontally. When contacted the company said that they didn't have to describ everthing and that it was my responsiblility to view the gun. I now have a friend look at all potential buys from this auction house. Buyer beware.
