Well, lucky we all have our own diverse views on things, it certainly makes the world a more interesting place. I happen to think that top-lever hammer is the most elegant configuration possible for a vintage double, shotgun or rifle. If it happens to be TLH ejector, then its as close to perfection as you can get IMHO. Having said that, the gun pictured above is heavily refinished, incorrectly, and has serious damage to the action-flats, suggestive of mistreatment. That gun would be lucky to fetch US$5000 in Australia, that's for sure. I would not be put off the .577 Express by that offering, but would be looking elsewhere. |
