Probably "in the heat of the moment" a difference of a pound or two won't matter or be noticed at all. I'd have to carry one for a day myself to know if I'd rather have a double weighing 11 lbs or something on the order of 13 lbs, or so. I guess I would lean toward the 11-12 lb range with 24" barrels and be happy with a rifle that's a bit easier to carry since that's the role it serves for most of the time.
