In energy, it is about like the difference in a 458 win mag and a 458 lott. &00 or 800 ft.lbs of energy is a felt difference on the other end with felt recoil, but the 500 is not a terrible kicker at all. 577 is a bigger difference in both ends of the gun, still quite shootable though.
