Had a 140 in 470NE. Took it to Africa once and took one Elephant with it and a couple of Impala baits. Always used rear trigger first to eliminate doubles. Triggers were set at whatever the factory sets them at. Don't have any way to measure trigger pull and in the 50+ years of building and shooting rifles and pistols have NEVER known what the pull was. As long as they feel right they are right. At least to me. Have had zero problems with Merkels and currently own a 141 in 8x57R and am very happy with it.
