Re: Browning BSS .470 NE

The BSS conversions that were sold for $4600 were made properly by B.Searcy, sold out of Baron, California, many years ago. Those were very well done and were not liners but mono-block, and the regulation was done in the accepted method of wedge and solder, and the action was re-hardened, and had a third fastener added. There is one of those that now lives with a PH in Africa, that had over 4000 rounds of 470NE fired through it before it was sold to the PH, and is still working fine today.

The rifle he's talking about is at Cabela's, and it is a whacked out piece of junk! It is a full length liner with off center bushings in the shotgun muzzles to regulate it! The single trigger is selective, at least, but still single. I'd come closer to paying their price for a clean BSS shotgun that that abortion!

It seems the rifle has already been sold, or taken off the market.........GOOD if it has been taken off the market!
