I only have 6.5 experience in the x55 Swede. The Hornady .264 160 has done well for me in the 6.5 Swede on deer, but it tends to come apart somewhat as demonstrated in my test media. I would not use it in a .264 Win for example. I consider it an excellent deer bullet in the slower 6.5's up to Swede, and may be the best there is in 6.5 Jap, 6.5x53 and 6.5x54? If the Carcano .268 bullet performs similarly I'd expect it to do very well in that caliber. I've had excellent results with the bulk Remington 140 on a couple elk and the 140 Prvi Partizan is cheap and kills deer like lightning. At Swede velocities the Remington holds together quite well. Noslers penetrate deeper in my test media. I have not shot any of the Swifts or Woodleighs. Would make for an interesting test. Cup-pointed, the 140 Prvi is explosive on ground squirrels! |
