DDouble I once shot a cape buffalo in Zimbabwe, at 12 yards, through the shoulder, through the heart, with a 480 Woodleigh Soft, from my 450 No2, the bullet lodging in the skin on the far side. The buffalo ran around 125 to 150 yards in heavy brush, leaving a big blood trail. As we approached, the buff tried to get up. Two solids knocked the buff down and finished the deal. Them bovines can be tough. PS. The only cape buff I ever killed with one shot, and my biggest in horn and body, were taken with my 9,3x74R double and a 286gr Woodleigh Soft. |
