Other than pressure, which would tend to mitigate against using this round as a basis for a DR/shotgun conversion, I would think there is absolutely no reason not to have this as a DR round. The rimmed design & generous body taper should make for easy feeding & extraction. It maybe that the same taper may give too great a back thrust?, thats getting out of my territory. Such a rifle could be built as a very nice trim little sporter. Its a good calibre with all the attributes you've stated. Its still on my list is possibles for a Saimese Mauser action I have.
