The mounts are steel ringmounts, 3/8" size, by Lynx. I got the local agent to replace the Allen screws with lever screws to make them hand-detachable.

They don't seem to move. The dovetail doesn't run all the way through the front of the rail, so there's a stop there to butt the front ring against.
