Sepia, First, my rifle is not a Merkel. It's an antique German double rifle. But that makes no difference as to regulation. ![]() A good double gunmaker can re-regulate the barrels. It involves an adjustment using the same process as the original regulation. The wedge at the muzzles has to be moved a bit. This is not a very expensive procedure. I think it cost me $500 U.S. I had J.J. Perodeau do it for me here in the U.S. I know there are well qualified gunmakers in Oz who can help you, but you will need to get a referral from somebody in Oz. Mine was part of a larger job. I had my rifle re-jointed, re-regulated, and the barrels re-blacked. The 232 grain (15 gram) bullets are pretty darn good too! Mine shot them quite well. Double rifles always have their little glitches. I guess that's why we love them. Curl |
