Actually I have found a large bore double [450/400 3 1/4" and 450 No2 in my case], and my scoped [1.5-6x42 Swarovski, illuminated circle dot reticle], 9,3x74R to be a perfect pair of rifles for my hunts in Zimbabwe.

At no time while hunting plains game did I wish for another calibre or type of rifle.

For open country plains game hunting like in SA, etc., a flatter shooting Magnum would be better of course.
