I am in your boat as well. I have a SXS .45-70 in the works, and a SXS .50 Muzzleloader.
They will hunt.
My others are SXS combos, medium (9.5mm) and big (12.7mm) X smooth 16. Guess that isn't quite what the survey means, but a 250 or 450 grain bullet followed by a fast shot from a .65 cal round ball should be formidable on boar or a close deer size animal.
Yes, I wish I had a .500 BPE or .577 BPE SxS. Someday.
