Some years ago I made some 12 guage snap caps by supergluing a piece of O-ring material of the appropriate diameter into a drilled out primer cup. It seemed to work fine until I got around to buying some proper ones, it might be worth trying similar if your had any tired cases that you no longer reloaded, at least until you can get some from one of the lands across the sea.
