Re: Blaser Doubles

I have shot several Blaser S2's. I also hunt with Blaser D 99 Duo's [double rifle drillings], that operate the same way as the S2, ie they decock upon opening and must be re-cocked after reloading.

I also hunt with "regular" drillings, and regular double rifles.

The Blaser S2's are new technology. They operate and are made differently.
They usually shoot very well. I do not find. the cocking/operating mechanism to be a problem for me. IF YOU shoot and practice with it. Which is true for any DG rifle you would hunt with, it will become second nature.

Think of the S2 as a Hammer double that you can cock both hammers with one motion of the thumb.

Because they are uncocked when "walking" around, they are very safe.

I do not fine the motion/effort required to cock the Blaser's, R 93, K 95, D99, or the S2, to be ANY SORT of detriment to getting the rifle into fast action.

Also I have not found the locking lug overhanging the action to slow down reloading.
