All,

I am considering a Blaser double in 470. does anyone have any experience with it that they would like to share?

THanks and Shoot Straight!

I have to agree with most here, in that I would never buy a double rifle that had to be re-cocked every time you broke it open. That wouldn't make any difference in a rifle used for deer, but the 470NE is not a deer cartridge, and the last thing you want is anything easy to forget in the heat of a close quarters fight for your life! I feel the same way about auto safeties of any kind, but especially one that also cocks the rifle. If you want the combi-cocker feature, then the Krieghoff, makes far more sense. With that one, you load, and then slide the so-called safety back which de-cocks the rifle for safe carry while loaded. However, when you push the button forward it cocks the rifle! If you fire one, or both barrels, and break the rifle open for a reload, the rifle recocks it's self, just like any REAL DGR double rifle, and is ready to fire as soon as the rifle is closed, nothing to forget! Besides all that life is too short to hunt with an ugly rifle!
