Hey you two aren't the only ones. I was born in Honolulu a year after my dad mustered out of the Arty Corps. I popped out before the scheduled boat trip here to Ca. I was told that I didn't let the waves bother me but my mom was sick all the time she was on the ship. Work in Hawaii was tough to come by in those post WWII days and Ca. was deemed the land of opportunity.
