Re: Holland & Holland Model Deluxe .318 WR

If I were selling the gun to an individual, especially someone naive, I would have told them everything I knew or could guess about the firearm. Even so, I probably wouldn't have sold it to them anyway, even if they insisted. Same goes for an auction. If I had put it up for auction I would have provided a 100% description of both the good and the bad. It's a shame the "reputable" dealer I bought it from didn't.

However, I was selling this gun to a big gun dealer who is in the business of buying and selling guns and they had the firearm in their hands for inspection before purchase. I know that if Cabelas could have gotten the gun for 1/10th of what it was worth they would have done so and never breathed a word about the actual value or how much they would sell it for. As it was, I let them make their own evaluation. I know the gun was examined by at least three members of the staff. Maybe they did find everything I disliked about the gun but overpaid anyway. By the way, they never asked me if I knew of any problems with the gun. If they had, I would have told them everything. I'd rather burn a truckload of guns than lie about one.
