In new DRs, for a SXS I'd go with a Chapuis or a Merkel. I have owned both and prefer the Merkel to the Chapuis but that is simply a personal preference as both are excellent 'bang for the buck.' In a 9.3X74R, the lightest and perhaps best for carrying all day would be the Merkel 141 series which is built on a 28 ga chassis and weighs a bit less than the 140 series. The trade off would be a tad more recoil, but I have used the 141 in the 9.3 and find the recoil perfectly acceptable. Dave
