this is a picture of an 8 Bore being fired. This one uses a 12 Dram load and 1150 grain bullet. Notice anything odd?



8 Bore Tolley, weighs 17 lbs.

Two things - Why is the gun not recoiling up at the shot? What is the orange smoke? It it the muzzle blast?

Yes, the muzzle rise, or lack of it. It appears the bullet is still in the barrel. Notice the shooter is being pushed back already. This rifle will usually end at between 30 and 45 degrees, depending on the shooter.

This is a Black Powder load and the orange is actually flame from the burning powder.
