I would have expected a better description
from Keith Kearcher.

Interesting "custom" forend.

If the bores are nice it might be a nice find. Needs a quick trip to JJ to get the forend reworked. Decent 400's have been difficult to find here.

It's what I've come to expect. No mention of the poor replacement fore-end. It's a Webley built gun, not just a Webley action. I try to avoid anything from that guy. Hopefully he's just selling it, and hasn't done any work on it.

I see you and I have similar opinions !

Hence why I put that subtle comment.

The biggest one was his description of the Webley Screw Grip !!! Yes, well, I would have thought he knew better.

Just saw two doubles on another site for sale--one was a Rigby 303 British--which would be fun and the other was a .470 Evans...

A fella I know bought a DR from this guy that was supposedly one of his personal guns. It turned out to have overstressed rifling, and the barrels were BENT (J. J. had to straighten them). Some of the ammo he had been shooting came with the gun. On slugging the bores, they were clearly the wrong diameter bullets! Another fella I know had a nice pre-war American double shotty restocked and a loose rib relayed by this guy. The stock was nothing to crow about, and he got the rib back on just as straight as a mountain highway. Caveat Emptor.

I met the guy a a trade show in LV quite a few years ago
- and disagreed with him over a rifle proof marks. He and I didn't get on from then on as I think he hated someone with
even a small amount of decent knowledge and a brain.

For someone who IMHO esposed knowledge and experience of the British guns, I am amazed at ome of the stuff he comes out with.

Wise Warning.

We're on the same page. On his site a while back, he had a BPE advertised as a full Nitro Express. The guy isn't competent.

The rifle in question was my Pet hate in the US.

People trying to pass off a 375 2 1/2" rebored as a 375 Flanged Magnum.

Seeing a few rifle's like that made me realise that the 2nd and thrid level and below dealers really did try to pull the wool over buyers eyes.

It was one of those C&H guns !!!

You know it's interesting about the DR's we have been looking at - Ripp PM'd me.

IMHO, if dealers selling them spent just a few $ getting them 100% right before putting them up, they would fly out the door like hot cakes.

As I see it, alot of the guns around need a little bit of work - which if I owned them would have been done.

I have found that if you have a gun which is 100% functional with no if's or but's - or if there are any are clearly shown to the possible buyer - then the guns tend to go as soon as they hit the market ?

Your thoughts / Do you agree ?
