Savage 10ML-II

I've been reading quite a bit about the Savage 10ML-II smokeless muzzle loader, including a lengthy article from it's inventor -- Henry Ball, and I like it.

I never really bought into the inline ML theory, but this rifle really is a re-invention (including 3 patents) of a front-stuffer.

If you don't know anything about this rifle, prepared to be amazed. It's 100% made in America, the steel is full strength and meets the SAAMI spec for smokeless powder and has been tested to 129,000 psi. It includes the savage accu-trigger and reportedly will shoot 1.5" out of the box.

With smokeless powder it will last 3 lifetimes.

Henry Ball invented this rifle when his Lyman blew up almost killing him. He brings the ML into the 21st century, and as he so aptly states; with a 300 grain bullet and iron sights, its still only a 100 yard rifle -- but much safer and humane.

Re: Savage 10ML-II

I used to have one and traded it. I was never able to get claimed muzzle velocities with documented charges. In its place I had a custom gun built by Tom Post (http://www.swinglock.net/). The Savage is a good gun, but I like Tom's gun better.
