Re: Simson sleeved 45-70

Chapuisarmes,

My friend has an upholstery shop and I had talked to him several times about doing a case and he said he would try it. I took him the case, several photos of fitted cases and some red felt along with the gun and scope. I gave him free reign to do what he wanted as it was pretty much an experiment. He isn't a gun man at all and decided the gold color would be better, which was fine I guess. He has an industrial band saw as he does a lot of mine work and he used a neoprene type rubber instead of wood to form the inside with. He said it was easy to fit as he could cut and glue the forms to fit. It is soft and giving but makes the case heavy.
I asked him about doing more on a cost by job basis and he stated "No Thanks" that it just took too much time.
