The top rib was solid so we mounted Talley ruger ring bases and used a scope to regulate the gun. I took them off as I only shoot it with the irons but it didn't make a difference in the way the gun shoots. The rifle will group about 2" at 100 yds. with the scope and I can pretty much always get 2" 4 shot groups at 25 with the iron sights.
