My Sauer is pre WW I...I've seen articles on these scalloped boxlocks in DGJ but don't know the precise model designation. I used sleeved barrels, which simplified both construction and regulation. A bonus turned out to be a high enough rib to mill dovetail cuts for old Kimber scope rings. I believe Talley rings would also have worked fine. The island for the express rear sight serves as the recoil stop for the front scope ring...very neat. Barrel length is 25". Weight is 10 lbs w/o scope and 11 lbs with. The head of the stock was badly deteriorated and much effort was needed to save the buttstock. This rifle has been fired several hundred times with full power loads. I'd be happy to post pix, but not sure how.
