In my opinion, the ugliest part is the "release lever" (as H&R terms it). I pulled one to examine. It is stamped sheet steel, and the part that is visible is bent. I'm thinking of getting a spare, build it up with a little weldment, and file it to a nice shape, with checkering on top.

The trigger guard is another matter. It is a fairly complicated shape, as it is inserted up into the received and retained with cross pins. I'll look into reproducing these in polished steel, but I'm not sure it can be done for a price anybody would pay. Take care, Tom
