That is a FINE gun you have, and it sounds like it "needs" some attention, and if left unrepaired/uncleaned, it will eventually require more work to rectify the situation if neglected.

These guns are like high-end race cars, they require attention and regular maintenance to perform thier best.... nothing wrong with refinishing and I would have JJ do it for the sake of the gun's provenience.

It's not a famed winchester or beloved colt... so put those BS "refinish" connotations out of your mind and give the gal the attention she deserves.

That BS is for collectors that collect guns for "original" condition (which I don't get)... real guns were meant to be maintained and that includes the occasional stock refinish and reblack.
