Re: Barrel glue

Haven't watched the video but I would like to talk to one of the gunsmiths as to how much they're paid. I've been in the trade since graduating school at Trinidad class '79. First job was at Sport Service Center , P.T. Haberly owner. I ended up being the stock department and also helped with the pistol repair. It was in Chicago so that ended when I had a chance to go talk to the folks at C.Sharps Arms, J. Shoffstall owner , outside of Big Timber Montana. Said always looking for a good stock maker so I threw everything in my truck pointed it west and headed for the Rockies, that was in '81. Got the job and been here since. Now this Montana with it's "famous" low wages, there were lean times for the company we really took a hit on wages to keep things going. It' never been the road to riches, not as an employee any way. I was making guns that no way I could afford, custom '74 Sharp's, but you do that work in spite of the money, but it's what you do, it's what you care about. There's no way I can see that they have 100 to 200 pounds labor, which in American dollars is about twice the amount roughly, even with payroll taxes and all it must be grossly inflated by managment parasites. Again I'd like to talk to the 'smiths actually producing the work, be interesting.
