I have a several. You'd be hard pressed to tell which rifles have Boyds (Bold branded) and which have Timney Sportsman. They're pretty good for hunting rifles. I have one in an Husqvarna FN 98 and one in a VZ, and two in Small Ring Mausers. They work as well as the more expensive ones for hunting, say you're looking for 2.5 to 3.5 lbs. Pretty much a clone of a Timney. They are actually better than the Timney made Tradewinds trigger in my Husqvarna 1640. Much better than the old Mark X adjustable triggers. No creep or overtravel out of the box. I left mine alone, about 3 lbs as they came. I used Timney in my varmint rifles, they seam to have a crisper (?) break. Don't expect a Canjar, but for hunting Bolds are fine. My only complaint is that on the two with side safeties I had to bend the levers out a little. One to clear the bolt sleeve and the other because it scraped against the side of the receiver tang. No big thing with two needle nose pliers. |
