Unfortunately many shooters do not understand that there are three acceptable loading levels for the old .45-70, one for Trapdoor Springfield types, one for 1886 types, and one for Ruger #1 types. Obviously, shooting the latter in the former will almost certainly have catastrophic results!!!!
