For a State's Side hunting gun, I really like the idea, Tom. It could be made very light - like a 12 bore shotgun - easy shooter at 8 pounds or so.

It would probably do for most plains game (within reasonable ranges) in Africa as well.

I'd regulate for the 220gr.Hornady FN for US and Canada, 2,200fps to 2,400fps. Heavier bullets for elsewhere. Pressures would be quite low, I think as the .375 Win. loaded to the nuts did 2,200fps with most powders and 2,400fps with AA 1680, but my Winch. did not like that one. I used 220gr. FN on 2 moose - H335 and 1,940fps MV. A very efficient killer it was. No tracking - DRT.
