Now that is interesting. I do have one downstairs and it seems as if it is an easy enough conversion but around here the prices on them has gone up substantially. Still might consider it though. I also have a Siamese mauser but it is in condition too good to fool with.

My other .375JDJ is in a 14" top end for a 1911. Lots of recoil out of that frame but good for about an inch at 100 with a 270 at 1650. Could shoot it hotter but that is more than enough for what I do with it.
Think that 12" twist would be adequate?
If I do go with a double, instead of making an entirely new gun, I may just make a second set of barrels for my Sabatti 45-70 that has the correct frame size to start with.
