I realize that this does not properly belong on this forum, however, given our common interest, I thought some of you might like to see it. I am out of wall space in my little African trophy room and was puzzled as to how to display this Oryx. I've not seen this done anywhere before, so whatever blame or credit accrues, is mine. I had some chunks of red oak lying around my woodworking shop that I used for the base, the "outriggers', and the mounting plate. For $15 at Home Depot, I bought a red oak newel post for a stairway. The rest is self-explanatory. The "outriggers" have those little slippery nylon feet screwed to their undersides, so the unit is easy to move around for cleaning, etc. |
