Hi all,

I've been reading with interest the various threads and books on shotgun to double rifle conversions, and one point that is often raised is to try and match the calibre to the action size (ie 12 bore frame, 16 bore frame etc)in order that the finished rifle ends up at a reasonable weight, suitable to the calibre. I was wondering though if there are "standard" action dimensions for the various bores. For example distance between firing pins is such and such, distance between fences is X, water table is so long by so wide etc?

Is there a reference for this sort of information? I have ordered some material to build a couple of back action locks and would like to fit those to a action body of my own making eventually (well this year if all goes to plan).
