Re: Good source of stock quality wood?

"Stock quality wood," means many different things to different people. My opinions: American black walnut should be used only for American made guns, while European and especially English guns---especially quality double rifles/double shotguns, should be stocked with nothing but English walnut; best highest quality DENSEST walnut can be found growing only in dry climates, from old trees 100+ years old, within the root ball, below ground level. Such English walnut is often called French walnut, Turkish walnut, etc., but is all from same tree species, but growing in different climates. American black walnut, and many cross species varities, are little more than junk, in comparison, but are ok for cheap junk American guns.
