Hungarian proofmarks. Circled crown/BP = black powder (first) proof, in use from 1892 to 1948. FN = Nitro proof, in use from 1904 to 1971. Those telltale circular reinforcing bolsters around action bar - standing breech are also found on the (then) cheap Hungarian shotguns imported into Germany 30 to 50 years ago, called "Modell Puszta" by the importers. Those guns were probably made by the Budapest arms factory Fegvergyar. The "2" on the opening lever indicates it was once #2 of a pair. |
