I picked up a project double rifle last week and am not sure exactly what it is. Photos are attached, but you can see that it is actually a boxlock with side plate extensions to make it look like a side plate. The only markings are the serial number and one stamp with a FN under it, which makes me believe it was produced by FN, but I could easily be wrong. On top of the lever release is a gold number "2", and ahead of the safety is a gold "Z." The triggers seem to be unique in that the go up and down slightly when the safety is moved back and forth. Does anyone recognize this action and have any details on it? It is a real mystery to me.
