16 bore is, I think, the ultimate for a NA hunting rifle, and a double rifle in that calibre, best of all.

Were I more interested in India or Africa, a 14 or even a 12 bore would hold my interest more.

My single 14 bore is/was nice here for our larger game, but I do honestly feel a 16 bore would have actually been a more practical size. Lowered recoil and a one ounce ball would meet all requirements for the ungulates to 200yards and big bears closer in, of course.
