No need to question the strength of Ruger's cast parts; be assured they are of modern alloy steel and fully as strong as forged or milled steel. Consider that the backthrust of a very hot loaded 45-70 is still less, or no more than, a magnum 12 gauge, then you will see why Rugers are plenty strong enough for double rifles. Very nice rifle, BTW. |
