Recently I bought a sxs 12ga action to use for a double rifle build, but the action is missing a few components. There aren't any parts to be found, the shotgun is an imported trade name Italian "excelsior 88", and its not the common anson and deeley boxlock. Its what I refer to as a triggerplate action, lock parts are mounted behind the receiver and on the triggerplate. Berreta's silverhawk has a similar action, but I don't think the parts would work in this case. I need to make a guide rod for the hammer spring, its a coil type spring, but main problem is,due to the motion of the hammer, the guide rod's hole is at an angle where it meets the stock bolt mount. So my idea was to use a spring steel(5160) to make the guide rod so that it would have the ability to flex as the hammer moves. I just want to see if anyone has any other suggestions/tips on my problem. |
