I am interested in finding out how the Merkel double rifles are adjusted and what makes the system work. I know that one barrel is fixed at the muzzle end to a barrel bracket and that the other barrel floats. They have two small holes in the front bracket that have allen head adjustment screws in them. I can eaily figure out the convergence or spreading action of a wedge fitted to one of those screws, but I can't figure out how they adjust the elevation. Both barrels would have to be solidly soldered together back at a mid spacer so there couldn't be too much movement involved to get it regulated. If anyone owns one of these guns in the 140/160 model, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks,Bob H.
