It's a pain when you get a gun like that.
Have occasionally found it myself.

Solution
Get the rim of the chambers reamed out.

In the old days when ammo was scarce,
people who had the 3 1/4" guns had the
chamber rims reamed to take the 3" rim
thickness ammo.

So it does work.
