Can a gun with a top strap over the comb (presently cast off) be bent, if not to the left, at least straight? I have heard it cannot be done, because of the strap being inletted into the stock, but I'm wondering why the bending cannot be done in two parts, first bending the strap, then the stock to match.
The top strap, due to the bend, ie: offcast, will be longer if bent back straight. The difference will be quite mimimal and might, just might be taken care of with very careful inletting, or shortening a few thousandths on the skinny part and high temp silver or welding it back together. Re-inletting might be the best method. I'm sure it could be done but finding someone to do it might be the problem.
