You all know what a pain in the arse Tru-Oil is for drying out and clogging the threads on the bottle and the cap. I know all about storing the bottles upside down but it still happens. This was shown to me months ago and it works absolutely perfectly. Next time you get a new bottle, after you remove the plastic screw-on cap, DO NOT REMOVE THE FOIL SEAL on the top of the bottle's neck. Instead, take something pointy, a sharpened lead pencil works perfectly, and poke a hole, about 1/8" in diameter, in the centre of that foil seal. From here on, just dispense the oil through that hole. When you are finished, wipe off the top of the foil with a paper towel or a clean rag, and re-install the lid. I've been using the same bottle for months now, since I was shown this trick, and it is still like new. I'm not even bothering with the upside-down storage any more, because it's not needed. The cap seals hermetically against the foil, just as it left the factory. TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!! |
