Ron thanks for the info on solder and found an older post of yours on soft and high temp also. I notice that everyone who uses the existing monoblock leaves the rib on when cutting the barrels off.
Would it matter if one raised the top and bottom ribs prior to cutting Seems like there must be a good reason for leaving it on though I don't know what it is. Some of you thread the whole barrel shank and some thread a portion and leave a portion unthreaded, would an argument for this have to do with the shape of the bore and how much "meat" is left to thread.
