Re: The two .475 No2’s which to prefer?

If you read Tony Sanchez-Arino latest book "Great African Calibers" you will see that he has every confidence in this caliber, which came about for two reasons,1, Because there was a British ban on all cartridges of .45 caliber in India, and Africa. 2, to reduce the chamber pressure in tropical climates, which this cartridge certainly does. there have been a number of proffesional hunters who have "kept the faith" with this cartridge over the years,it is still available in both versions, and I have never had any problems in aquiring cartridges,or components to load my own.My preference is for the .500 Grn Jeffery version, which at 2150fps produces 5000 FtLbs at the muzzle, enough for anything on earth, and it can be loaded up to higher velocity in a Falling Block action without the problem of regulation.Buy one. Use it.You will not be disappionted!
